Lectures & speaking engagements
I hold an appointment as an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto and regularly lecture to medical students and psychiatry residents.
I regularly deliver lectures to primary care providers through the Hepatitis C Network in Ontario and to Project Echo. My lectures span a wide range of psychiatric issues pertaining to primary care and liver care.
Here are a few of the more popular lecture topics:
- Religious activity in psychiatric patients
- Motivational interviewing
- Anxiety in clinical settings
- PTSD
- Functional Neurological disorders
- Personality disorders
- Basic psychopharmacology in the medically ill
If you are interested in collaborating on a lecture or speaking engagements, please drop me a message.
Direct mentorship
As a faculty member, I enjoy regularly mentoring medical students and residents in psychiatry. If you are a trainee at a different institution and looking for outside mentorship, please reach out. To make the best use of your time, it would be helpful if you prepare a few questions beforehand. For example – are you considering a career in psychiatry? Are you struggling with burnout ? Or something else?
Educational materials, Workshops, and Course development
Coming Soon! I am currently working on some course development and workshop projects that I will be excited to share. Meanwhile, here is a link to some PDFs of psychoeducational material I have created that can be helpful to both patients and primary care providers. The PDFs are available in English and Arabic for now. If you would like to order print copies, I will mail them for the cost of printing and shipping.
